Realization

There is an economic trend and a wave of activities in the domain of Planet Live, that is, “Environmental Intelligence Platforms” and “Digital Twins” – the virtual representation of real-life activities. This is part of the current digitalization of basically everything in the world. New challenges like Climate Change require such digitized processes as well as geographical real time-information, not only for research, but also as an educational and transformatory tool.

Due to a partnership with ESRI / SynerGIS, the world market leader for geographic information systems, the project has thousands of geographic data sets that additionally can be implemented. The following criteria were used chosing datasets:

Data-Sets / Themes

There were thousands of datasets available, of which the project was able to incorporate about 20 scenaios. Those data sets were classified into the “5 Elements” fire, water, earth, air – and human domain:
  • Fire: Wildfires, Global Temperature, Drought
  • Water: Sea Rise, Coral Bleaching, Melting Sea Ice, Ocean Health
  • Earth: Earthquakes, Deforestation, Conservation
  • Air: Air Quality, Cyclones, Greenhouse Gases
  • Human: Conflicts, Piracy, COVID, Air Traffic and Shipping
